Sportradar is pleased to announce the Rugby Football Union (Rfu) as the latest sports governing body to sign up to Sportradar’s integrity monitoring services. Rfu sign three-year contract with Sportradar

Since 2004, the Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System (Fds) has successfully monitored a range of sports and has unrivalled experience and expertise in the identification of suspicious betting practices across the world.

Recent issues in other sports highlight the global threat posed by match-fixing in the 21st century. Those responsible are employing ever more diverse methods and targeting previously unaffected sports in a bid to maximise illicit betting profits. The Rfu have shown great foresight by installing integrity measures of the highest standard to ensure the safeguarding of rugby union’s integrity.

Sportradar Ceo, Carsten Koerl said, “Sportradar are delighted to be working with the Rfu to protect their sport. Their proactive approach will ensure that English rugby union can continue to prosper for years to come”.

Rfu Ceo, Ian Ritchie said “Although rugby union is not seen as a high risk sport in this regard, the Rfu recognises that it is essential to take proactive, preventative action to protect rugby union, its participants and its integrity. The engagement of Sportradar is only one of the many steps that the Rfu is taking as part of its Anti-Corruption Strategy”.
