Amsterdam reconnects the industry

The Dutch capital returns to celebrate the successful iGB Live! Event, dedicated to the gaming and affiliation industry

A return to the origins and also very welcome. This is what is celebrated in Amsterdam, between the pavilions of Rai, the exhibition center of the Dutch capital, with the online gaming fair and iGBLive affiliations! by Clarion Gaming, which after the various postponements and suspensions caused in the previous years by the pandemic, returns to take place in the summer, in July, as per the original program. This year, in reality, the focus was on the first week of July - with the appointment on stage from the 5th to the 8th of the month - perhaps also to avoid hitting the holidays of many professionals. Even if visiting Amsterdam especially in the summer, it is always worthwhile and can admit a few more sacrifices. As event director Naomi Barton explains to Gioco News: "A successful iGBLive! Is about creating opportunities, achieving an exceptional return on investment and building trust for the future." is to be expected from this new edition of the show. How important is the Conference and what’s on the agenda at iGB Live! 2022? “The Conference is incredibly important to our delegates who want a content rich experience. The team has done superbly well in bringing together many of the foremost industry influencers and thought leaders to share their insight. For example, we are extremely honoured to be hosting Ernie Stevens, Chairman of the Indian Gaming Association. Tribal Casinos, which are responsible for more than half of US gaming revenues, hold the keys to market access in many North American states that are either already regulated or on the cusp of being regulated. The discussion will explain how the commitment to community rather than shareholders underpins the vision of tribal gaming outlining how partnership strategies are critical to achieving market entry. Delegates will receive an update delivered by Chris Harrison, Google’s Industry Head – Financial Trading and EGaming. We have panels dedicated to mobile UX in the US market, an examination of how Ontario’s restrictive model can inspire more creative and loyalty-building marketing for other regulated markets and a debate on the UK’s long-awaited gambling White Paper featuring Wes Himes, Executive Director at the Betting and Gaming Council. It will also explore the prospect of stake limits on online slots, the dangers of this pushing customers into the unregulated black market, the latest advertising restrictions in the Netherlands, Gamification, AI, Metaverse, NFTs, Crypto, Blockchain and how iGaming can make the most out of social media. Naomi Barton concluded: “Our delegates want strong, topical and fresh content delivered by experts and the Conference programme certainly ticks those boxes. With 46 experts and thought leaders it is set to be among the two most informative days of the year”. What is the profile of visitors to iGB Live? “The iGB brand is connecting with a new and dynamic community of stakeholders and I think that energy and anticipation will be manifest in Amsterdam. One of our exhibitors, Online IPS put it perfectly when they said one of the key reasons they attend iGB Live! is to connect with the ‘game changers’ the people who are ‘doing things differently’ – I think it’s that sense of constructive disruption that makes iGB Live! a special event on the calendar. As an organising team our aim is to capture the unique credentials, build on the positive metrics and continue the process of ensuring that the brand unlocks business opportunities for attendees, helps to raise professional standards and delivers enhanced ROI for our exhibitors”. Can you provide some information on the Slots Arena at iGB Live? “We have responded to feedback from the industry, and created a dedicated feature area for visitors to learn more about the latest innovations in a vertical that according to data provided by H2 Gambling Capital accounted for $18.8bn or 71% of online casino revenues in 2021. Traditional slots, whether land-based or online, have failed to connect with millennials or Gen-Z. These fundamental shortcomings are being addressed by games creators with innovation delivering multi-player functionality, as well as elements of social and skill-based features to games, meaning that a whole new sub-category of slots are relevant to the industry with the capabilities to help accelerate business growth and in the process expand the parameters of iGaming.  We’ll be exhibiting how various slots streamers operate through viewing their dedicated Twitch broadcast channels, and the iGB Live! show floor will include a dedicated space for networking. Agile and dynamic in-person events such as iGB Live! are all about identifying and facilitating growth opportunities, and the iGB Slots Arena has been created to help visitors connect with igaming slots businesses and convert networking to player traffic and player acquisition. I think it’s a powerful example of the commitment to innovation that underpins the iGB Live! experience”. What are your expectations as organizers – what do you want to achieve? What we want to achieve as an organising team are customer success, delivering outstanding ROI and in the process  building the brand – but these can only be achieved if we are able to deliver a positive experience for all of our stakeholders. Last year’s edition of iGB Live! surpassed expectations, so much so that in the post-show independent research that we commissioned it rated amongst the elite top 2% of b2b events. Similarly, April’s iGB Affiliate London achieved an overall satisfaction rating of 89%, a figure that eclipsed the exhibition industry benchmark for returning trade events which was 59%: furthermore, 90% of attendees confirmed they were likely to return compared to the industry standard of 67%. If we have delivered a positive experience that compares with 2021 and 2022 and our stakeholders leave Amsterdam full of ideas, new contacts, exciting business opportunities and with a confidence for the future then I will be happy but ready to improve and to develop the brand further”.
