Fanelli (AdM): '18 thousand registered in the self-exclusion players register'

The Italian gambling Regulator confirms the commitment of the body in the fight against Gap with increasingly safe and quality gaming products.

Rome - 18 thousand Italian players spontaneously registered in the self-exclusion register introduced by the administration in recent months and made available to all licensed concessionaires for remote gaming. The Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli's director of games, Roberto Fanelli, provides the number, speaking at the presentation of the survey on pathological gaming of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, commissioned by the Agency. The data are provided describing the initiatives undertaken by AdM to prevent and counter pathological gaming. "Among the 18 thousand self-excluded players, about 15 thousand have done it in a definitive way", Fanelli explains. He also recalls other initiatives: from limitations to the value of bet, imposed to the online gaming, to the reduction of the number of entertainment devices as regards physical gaming, combined also by the updating of the technical rules of Vlts. Then, the director of games illustrated also the most recent and ongoing measures provided by the Dignity decree: from the introduction of the health card for the activation of slots, to the insertion of warning messages on the health risk in instant lotteries and even more. While Fanelli hypothesizes, between future developments: the extension of the self-exclusion register for physical gaming too, the introduction of down time between one or more gaming sessions to slow down the phases between one bet to the next, and even more. In addition to announcing a greater number of controls in terms of fight against illegality and access to gaming by minors. The Monopoli's executive also focused on the quality of gaming offer: "We believe that the need to reduce the number of outlets is a right choice, but we also believe that outlets should be uniform: for example, in terms of operators training, but also thinking about the access restrictions of the premises". However, great commitment will be dedicated to the fight against illegality because "illegal gaming is surely the most dangerous phenomenon for players and for the state".
