The Croatian gambling industry has been very popular when it comes to gambling media lately and this includes the announcements made by Novomatic, who opened the Grand Casino Admiral in Zagreb, Hard Rock – who are considering to open casino facilities in the country, but also the acquisition made by the Czech gaming operator, Sazka Group, who have recently acquired Croatia’s largest sports betting operator SuperSport.
The industry in Croatia has seen its ups and downs, local media reported that SuperSport generated annual revenue of HRK400m (US$64.5m) and a net profit of HRK170m in its most recent results, although this was down from the HRK480m in revenue the company generated in 2014.
The online gambling market has been divided between to rival companies, SuperSport and Prva Sportska Kladionica, which was acquired by Sazka’s Czech rival Fortuna Entertainment Group in 2017 for €135m.
In order to bring the latest information when it comes to regulation, investing opportunities or particular aspects of the industry, it is best to always get the information from the locals. This has always been the mission of European Gaming Media and Events. This is why the European Gaming Congress will feature some of the most committed industry experts in special panel discussions.
