The Government about shared online poker liquidity: 'Verification in progress, the agreement will be respected'

Pier Paolo Baretta, undersecretary for Economy with responsibility for games: "About liquidity, technical verification in progress but the agreement will be respected".

Rome - France and Spain started for almost a week the shared online poker tables between the two states and then subsequently opening to "dot eu" and "dot com" liquidity players, at least on the first active room, PokerStars. And the two countries, as well as the online poker room already running with shared liquidity, are waiting for Italy, on the basis of the signature of July, the 6th, 2017 in Rome, of the agreement between the first 4 regulated markets. Gioconews.it asked the question to the undersecretary with responsibility for games, Pier Paolo Baretta, present at the presentation of the book published by Gn Media, "Il senso del gioco" by Riccardo Zerbetto: "The Government has started a verification that is still in progress. There is an international agreement on shared liquidity, that will be respected. When we will have the results of this verification (supposedly of a technical nature) we will communicate them and then make a decision on it". It is the first official position of a representative of the executive after many months and, above all, after the interventions of the politics that had expressed great doubts about the "freezando" project, so about the participation of Italy. Therefore, there is a little bit of optimism for the supporters of shared liquidity. There were those who, as we reported, talked about Q4, the fourth quarter of 2018, as a possible date for the launch or reopening of Italy for the possible entry into the shared market. Then another disappointment, with the start at full blast of Spain and France, that the participation of Italy seemed unlikely. As we analyzed, determining the political scenario that will be configured. In fact, at this stage, the Government still in charge, although in transition to the elections of March, the 4th, has shown to be in favor of complying with an agreement signed by the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli and, therefore, by the Ministry of Finance. Now, we only have to wait for the results of this (technical?) verification, which Pier Paolo Baretta mentioned.
