Eca is Looking Forward to its 2013 European Dealer Championship

30 January 2013 - 14:08

ECA and its members understand and recognize that training is crucial in order to learn all the necessary skills to become a good and qualified dealer. ECA, to this end, promotes training and supports its members by constantly trying to improve professionalism in casinos across Europe. The European Dealer Championship underlies this ethos whilst, at the same time, providing the perfect opportunity to exchange information, expand networks, and meet with friends.

The championship provides European dealers with the opportunity to showcase their high levels of professionalism and promote best practices in creating a welcoming, fun, safe and fair environment in European casinos. The championship is exclusively for ECA members. Each member country of the ECA has the opportunity to enter the European Dealer Championship with their ‘National Dealer Champion’ and runner up.

March 2007 saw Spain host ECA’s inaugural European Dealer Championship, which celebrated a high level of professionalism from dealers across Europe.  That year, contestants representing ten European countries participated in the final with contestants demonstrating their excellent skill levels and hospitality techniques which embody the European casino experience. Since then, the Championship has become one of the most important events on the yearly calendar, and the number of participating countries has grown to an impressive 20. Every year, the contestants exhibit exceptional, and improving, levels of skill and friendly competitive spirit.

This year the championship will take place at Casino Campione d’Italia. Jeroen Bosman (Holland Casino) and Yared Gabretensaye (Casino Cosmopol) have been the heart of the organising committee since the championship’s conception. This year, the two of them, together with Cristina Antonucci and Daniela Sassi (both from Casino Campione), are busy with the preparations and final details. About the annual organisation of the event, Jeroen remarked, “each year we try to bring the championship to the next level of experience for everyone who is present”. “Until now, I can say we have succeeded in achieving this goal. And this year promises to be no exception, thanks to the immeasurable support from Cristina, Daniela and the team from Casino Campione d’Italia. The location is superb! We are sure people will, again, be thrilled”, concluded Yared.
