In London a new edition of the Italian briefing at ICE by Gioconews.it

After the success of the 2016 ICE Seminar, dedicated to the online Italian market by Gioconews.it, the London fair hosts again the Italian Briefing, which doubles.

Italy is still a model for the regulation of public gaming? Judging from the situation we can see into the country, it seems difficult to answer yes, with many, too many problems the sector is facing within national borders, just because of regulatory issues: first of all the so-called 'territorial issue', putting in conflict, and for some time, the central government with local authorities. Yet, despite the difficulties, our model is still considered an example at an international level, for its ability to combine (albeit with difficulty, one might say) market interests with the ones of public order, player safety and fight against illegality. The path is not simple, it is clear to everybody: but today one state is basically forced to take action on games regulation, creating a legal offer to face the spread of other illegal or borderline ones and, therefore, dangerous for the consumer. A real need, which now we can read in the reports of most European countries and beyond. Even those most reluctant to give way to gaming, have had to deal with the reality. As indeed it is happening in the United States, in a process with great difficulty and various oppositions, that it is still going on in various countries, despite the general opposition towards this area a few years ago. NOT ONLY ONLINE - For this reason, in an international, indeed global, context like that of ICE Totally Gaming in London, a seminar dedicated to the Italian case easily found space, already in the previous edition, as a successful example in regulating online gaming. And after the success of the 2016 first edition of the London show - that was followed, however, by the Round Table between European regulators went on stage to the next EiG in Berlin - the 2017 Ice edition (scheduled 7-9 February) proposes a seminar session dedicated to our country in great detail. This time the Italian Briefing doubles: two separate events aimed at deepening the knowledge of a gambling market among the most developed in Europe, in all its forms. Therefore, not only online but also land-based gaming. The double event is scheduled for the morning of Thursday, February the 9th, inside the Ice exhibition in London, in the South Hall 15 and 16 of the ExCeL Exhibition Centre which hosts the show, starting from 10.15 a.m. THE ITALIAN BRIEFING LEGACY - The panel dedicated to the Italian online gaming will open the double working day, which is the sequel of the 2016 edition of the seminar, proposing "The online gaming between the successful regulation against illegality and new business opportunities". Despite the Italian regulatory model of online gaming has already been analyzed in depth because of the important results achieved to bring out a large part of the illegal market, even managing to bring new operators into the legal circuit, the matter is anything but passed. On the contrary. Especially now, when other European countries and in the world are introducing a regulation of this market on their territory also looking at our model. The Agenzia dei Monopoli's director of online gaming office, Daria Petralia, will study the various aspects of the regulation and the impact on national and international economy in the GiocoNews.it seminar, in a discussion with the delegates of leading national and international gaming companies. At the same seminar we will also address other important changes characterizing the Italian gaming market starting from 2017: first of all the new tender procedure for the allocation of new licenses that promises the entrance of new operators in the online sector. Besides offering an in-depth discussion on the market trend, starting with an analysis of the 2016 data, highlighting a market growth and an additional work of emergence done over the past twelve months, until we see the next coming thing, even in terms of regulation and not only of market. With an eye to the international liquidity and other regulatory policies at community level. BETWEEN BETTING, VLTs and AWPs: HOW LAND-BASED OFFER CHANGES - In the light of various regulatory changes the sector of Italian physical gaming prepares to take on new connotations. How will be the future gaming locations? This is one of the questions the second panel will try to answer to, in which the GiocoNews.it seminar is organized (scheduled from 12:15 to 13:30). Thirteen years after the regulation of AWPs in Italy and seven years since the arrival of VLTs, the Italian gaming industry is ready to welcome new and further changes, promising to revolutionize the offer and, in particular, the structure of gaming locations. This is because of changes in state regulation and product developments. Looking at the new technical standards for VLTs, new betting concessions and the next generation of AWPs. But how will be the new gaming shops? Operators and experts in their respective fields will talk about it, trying to offer some previews on the future scenario that could characterize the market, also offering new entrance opportunities for new operators in one of the most competitive and still evolving market in the world. (For those interested to attend the seminar as audience, the registration – for free - is recommended to ensure a seat, through this link)
