EAG International Expo goes social

19 November 2012 - 08:27

A new landscape for gaming field in London. EAG International 2013 is set to extend the reach of this great industry gathering with the recent launch of its Twitter and Facebook sites.  The organisers claim that the use of social media to promote the event and encourage feedback and comment will add even greater value to EAG International which is being staged January 22-24 at Excel in London. EAG International Expo’s Martin Burlin explains: “EAG International has always been a great launch platform for the latest amusements and attractions products and a perfect opportunity for operators to view them in time for the upcoming season.  However, most exhibitors face incredibly tight deadlines and often don’t know what products they will be presenting until days before the event.  This makes it difficult for them to promote their launches or at show events.  Twitter and Facebook will change all that and allow communication right up to and throughout the event.”

Response from exhibitors who are already using social media has been positive as this new EAG online community will enable them to reach a wider target audience and to engage with customers in advance of the show and during the show open hours.

SEGA Amusements’ Justin Burke welcomed the step: “We’ve been using social media for the the past 12 months and find it a great way to communicate with the global audience and to leverage new business. We’re sure that the wider EAG International Community can only benefit from this initiative,” revealed Justin.

Burlin continues “There is an added value for visitors for whom show attendance is very much about meeting friends and colleagues and sharing information and experience.  These tools will make it easier for them to see which of their colleagues is going to EAG and even communicate and arrange meetings on site.”

Show organisers Karen Cooke adds “ We are doing everyting possible to support EAG participants to ensure that they will get the most from attending the event.  So do send us your news, press releases and anything else you would like to communicate to the EAG International audience; we’ll do the rest.  Those already on Twitter and Facebook should take the time to connect with the show, making sure that they use the #EAG hash tag with any show related tweets!”

Registration for EAG International 2013 is now open at www.eagexpo.com.
